From
your Board and Committees!
President’s Message This last month, I had the privilege
to experience Summer Institute at Kenyon College. I can honestly say that our members are not
exaggerating in the least when they say that Summer Institute is a wonderful
experience. It was quite a week. I even got to find out what I look like
with orange and fuchsia hair! My
thanks and congratulations go out to Laura Howe for all the work that she did
this year and to John Rodeheffer for all the work he must have done for last
year. The week in Kenyon energized me and
made me excited to get back to work for the Board and the congregation. I look forward to continuing to work to
focus the Mission Statement so that it reflects who we are and who we want to
be. I have heard comments from a few
of you regarding the draft Mission Statement, but I would love to hear from
more of you. When we arrived at Summer Institute,
I had the same feeling that I had when I first arrived at NUUC. I felt like I had found a spiritual
home. This feeling of comfort and
peace that I found at NUUC is something I cherish. I hope that, in some small way, I can help
NUUC to provide that same warmth to others.
Until next month, Nina Webb-Lawton Thanks
for your Faithful Giving… Summer is in full swing, and
although demands and schedules are more relaxed in this season, the
obligations of the church don't take a “vacation.” We still have to meet our commitments, pay
for utilities, etc., and your faithful and consistent giving is so
appreciated and necessary to staying on budget. Remember: you can always mail in an offering or
pledge check, even if your schedule keeps you away from services. Just mail it to: NUUC, Attn: JGD, Pledging statements for the period
through June 30 were mailed out the middle of July. If you have any questions
about the status of your giving or other pledging matters, feel free to call
the church office at 740-657-8081 and talk to Rev. Ritchie (RevRitchie@aol.com) or Jeri Dill (nuucjdill@aol.com). Our annual Stewardship Drive happens
in the fall of the year; if you would like to make a formal financial
commitment to the church prior to that time, contact Stewardship Chair Laura
Howe at Howe_L@yahoo.com or visit our website at www.nuuc.org and click on “About Us” and then “Stewardship
Materials.” |
